Zoho, StartupSouth grows by 50% in Nigeria

Zoho, a global tech company, says it grew by 50% in Nigeria in 2022.

Through its Zoho for Startups program, the company has also teamed up with StartupSouth, which helps South and Southeast Nigerian startups grow.

Additionally, Zoho will give away its contract management tool, Zoho Contracts, for free for three months to assist businesses in better following the Nigeria Data Protection Law. Official statements were made at Zoholics Nigeria, the company’s annual user conference, which took place in Lagos.

“Nigerian businesses using cloud technology, especially unified platforms, to go digital and become more resilient to changing market conditions has directly led to our growth.” According to Ali Shabdar, Regional Director, MEA, Zoho, “Zoho’s unified technology stack, built from the ground up, lets us meet the transformation needs of businesses with strong solutions that deliver consistently seamless user experiences at unbeatable value.”

Nigeria is one of Zoho’s biggest markets for adopting Zoho One, a business operating system, and Zoho Workplace, a unified enterprise collaboration tool. This country’s other best-selling items are Zoho Books (financial software), Zoho Desk (helpdesk software), and Zoho CRM Plus (unified customer experience platform).

Zoho expanded its partner network by 22% and more than doubled its Nigerian workforce in 2022 to support clients better.

Collaboration with StartupSouth

Zoho’s Zoho for Startups program has teamed up with StartupSouth. New Zoho customers that are startups partnered with StartupSouth can get ₦470,000 in Zoho Wallet credits.

With this credit, you have 360 days to buy or upgrade any of Zoho’s 55+ goods, including Zoho One, the business operating system. One Zoho platform connects over 50 tools, ranging from CRM to HR management.

Each company will also get training on using Zoho’s products to help it grow in a way that makes it easy to expand.

Our partnership with Zoho is excellent because they have many business apps to help startups quickly digitize most of their business areas. These apps can also help them streamline and combine their operations for better management and a better view of the whole picture. Uche Aniche, Convener of #StartupSouth said, “We’re excited to help new businesses by removing barriers to access to enterprise technology through this partnership with Zoho.”

ZOHO Contracts helps firms comply with NDPL

Starting this year, the Nigerian Data Protection Law took effect. Businesses must verify that their contracts include data security and breach notifications, third-party contractors follow NDPA standards, and multinational contracts meet cross-border data transfer requirements under NDPL.

In non-compliance, businesses risk the loss of consumer trust and potential legal action, apart from a potential fine of up to ₦10 million or 2% of annual gross revenue.

Zoho Contracts lets organizations build contract templates with new/revised provisions for NDPA compliance, use analytics to find contracts with a particular clause rapidly, anonymize counterparty data on request, and manage and monitor contractual responsibilities with reminder notifications.
