The Vision
The CEO of the Zarttalent Foundation, Nelson Ajulo, spoke highly of the partnership and its potential to have a long-term effect on the students involved. He enthusiastically shared that they are looking forward to working with universities in Nigeria to equip students with vital technological skills, setting them up for success.
Also covered is their plan to equip students to thrive in the modern digital world by combining classroom instruction with hands-on experience. Partnerships such as these will be pivotal in determining how Nigeria’s digital economy develops in the future, given the increasing demand for technical skills.
In line with the overarching goal of educating 2,000 women in technology across Africa in the next five years, the Zarttalent Foundation also provides a 30% scholarship to female students interested in enrolling in the academy. When it comes to ESG goals—environmental, social, and corporate governance—this initiative is a huge help.
While 73% of young Nigerians can read and write, just 7% have the information and communication technology (ICT) abilities necessary to thrive in today’s digital economy, according to a UNICEF report from 2023. But the Zarttalent Foundation and Nigerian universities’ strategic partnership will foster innovation in Nigeria’s educational system and equip the country’s future tech leaders.
