Dakar as the Next Stop on AfricArena tour

Dakar is the next stop on the 2023 AfricArena tour, and the AfricArena team cannot wait to get there. This is due to the successful completion of the AfricArena Cairo Growth Stage Summit. The summit is scheduled to take place at the Museum of Black Civilizations on the 24th and 25th of May, 2023.

The meeting was organised by Startupbootcamp AfriTech, DER, AWS Startups, the International Trade Centre, ENRICH in Africa, ASIP, and Philippe Lalliot, the French ambassador to Senegal and Gambia. Its mission is to facilitate connections and collaborations between entrepreneurs, investors, and venture capitalists from all around Africa and the rest of the world.

What will occur at the Meeting.

Over the course of the meeting’s two days, over 30 entrepreneurs in the finance, mobility, and logistics industries will offer presentations. These startups are at various stages of growth, ranging from seed to change. In addition, guests will have the opportunity to gain knowledge from keynote speakers and participate in panel discussions moderated by industry experts.

There will be a number of people speaking at the event, including Zachariah George, managing partner at Launch Africa Ventures; Charlotte Newman, head of Underrepresented Founder Startup BD at AWS Startups; Thaheer Mullins, general partner at Savant Venture Fund; July Andraous, managing partner at Jambaar Capital; and many others.

During the course of the week, in addition to the summit, there will be a number of other events. ENRICH in Africa will host a learning expedition in Dakar, giving international business owners and small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) the opportunity to explore the Senegalese market and develop long-term connections. During the summit, there will also be an event called the ASIP accelerator demo day, which will showcase the most promising firms that have graduated from the ASIP accelerator programme to potential investors and partners.

The city of Dakar, which is frequently referred to as the “Gateway to Africa,” will serve as an appropriate location for this event. The most western city on the African continent is Dakar. It is famous for its long history as well as its vibrant culture. People who travel there have the opportunity to learn more about the commercial possibilities in Senegal while walking around the city’s ancient streets.

In addition, the VC Unconference, which is well-known in the community of venture capital for enabling individuals to collaborate and share new ideas with one another, will take place in Saly, Senegal, in conjunction with Startupbootcamp AfriTech.
