SAP SE launches AI copilot for business operations 

SAP SE has unveiled Joule, a groundbreaking natural-language, generative AI copilot set to revolutionise business operations. 

Joule will be seamlessly integrated throughout SAP’s cloud enterprise portfolio, offering proactive, context-aware insights derived from SAP solutions and third-party sources. By rapidly processing and contextualising data from various systems to deliver intelligent insights, Joule aims to accelerate work processes, enhance business outcomes, and ensure security and compliance. The introduction of Joule builds on SAP’s legacy of pioneering technology that delivers tangible results.

A Game-Changer for Business and Technology

Joule: Transforming SAP Applications

Joule will be integrated into SAP applications across various domains, including HR, finance, supply chain, procurement, and customer experience, as well as into SAP Business Technology Platform. Joule is set to revolutionize the SAP user experience by offering answers to questions or solutions to problems framed in plain language. Joule leverages a vast repository of business data from SAP and third-party sources, ensuring context retention. For example, a manufacturer can seek Joule’s assistance in understanding sales performance. Joule can identify underperforming regions, link to other data sets revealing supply chain issues, and offer potential fixes. In HR, Joule will assist facilitate unbiased job descriptions and generate relevant interview questions.

Joule’s Availability and SAP’s Enterprise AI Strategy

Joule will be accessible with SAP SuccessFactors solutions and the SAP Start site later this year, followed by availability with SAP S/4HANA Cloud, public edition early next year. Further rollouts with SAP Customer Experience, SAP Ariba solutions, and SAP Business Technology Platform are planned, with additional updates across the SAP portfolio set to be announced at upcoming events.
