Nigerian Communications Satellite Limited (NIGCOMSAT) and Eutelsat Group, a world leader in satellite communications, have announced a ground-breaking multi-year, multi-million dollar agreement to provide low Earth orbit (LEO) satellite services in Nigeria.
Through the strategic partnership, which was revealed on Thursday, NIGCOMSAT will be able to use the OneWeb LEO network to provide high-speed, low-latency connectivity, establishing it as Nigeria’s top satellite service provider.
The services, which support critical applications including remote communications, mobile connection, and offshore operations, will benefit a broad spectrum of sectors, including government, businesses, and underdeveloped rural areas.
