As the South African startup LocumBase prepares for exponential expansion, Grindstone Ventures has provided the company with an undisclosed funding round. LocumBase is an independent web platform that facilitates medical bookings.
Zulé Vuuren started LocumBase in 2016 with the goal of making it easier to find a locum tenens job by putting South African practices in touch with independent medical experts.
“In order to give the absolute best care for your patients, you, as the owner of a practice or as a main practitioner, need to get some sleep and recharge your batteries. According to Vuuren, “you need a simple and seamless way to manage your temporary team as well as find the best new locums so that you can grow your business.”
How it happened
This is something that LocumBase intends to provide. The Grindstone Accelerator program was successfully finished by the startup in the previous year, and it graduated as the winner of its cohort. The money that the company will receive from Grindstone Ventures, an organization that offers finance to accelerator alumni with a primary focus on companies that were created by women, will assist the company as it starts to scale.
