On February 21, 2025, it was announced that the Africa Legal Hackathon would take place on April 11, 2025, at the Google Accra Office in Ghana.
This event is a collaboration between Legaltech Lounge (LTL) and Because She Can, aiming to bring legal professionals, developers, and innovators together to develop solutions that enhance access to justice.

Harnessing technology for justice
The hackathon will feature sprints where teams develop real-world legal tech solutions, workshops, and mentorship from legal and tech experts. The focus is on creating practical, impactful solutions to improve justice accessibility.
Michel Nkansah, Co-Founder of Legaltech Lounge, emphasised, “Innovation is key to unlocking access to justice. We’re bringing together Ghana’s brightest minds to develop platforms that help every citizen understand their rights and access legal aid”.
Kweyakie Afi Blebo, Co-Founder of Because She Can, highlighted the importance of inclusivity, stating, “Women face some of the highest rates of human rights violations, yet they remain underrepresented in legal tech. This hackathon ensures that women play a role in designing solutions that improve justice for all”.
