Legendary Foods Transforming Agriculture Sustainable Insect Solutions
Nine cutting-edge entrepreneurs from around the world assembled at the HackSummit in Lausanne for the final pitch competition, marking an exciting conclusion to the FoodTech World Cup.
These innovative companies, who represented a range of geographical areas, demonstrated their ground-breaking approaches to addressing pressing issues within the food line.
Among them, the Ghanaian startup Legendary Foods took the stage to introduce its innovative methodology. Their creative approach uses innovative insect agriculture to create protein-rich food sources that are just as nutritious as meat but cost far less in terms of both the environment and cost compared to plant-based alternatives.
Legendary Foods wants to revolutionise food production and consumption by utilising the power of insect agriculture to provide everyone with access to sustainable nutrition. They came in second place in the competition, which they rightfully deserved thanks to their strong pitch and outstanding solution.
With their farming method, the company addressed waste and circularity while simultaneously showcasing its answer as a chance for growth. In the end, the company was defeated by Foreverland Food, an Italian company that creates chocolate substitutes that are healthier for the environment and humans by using less cocoa while still tasting delicious.
Foreverland Foods and Legendary Foods Share Victory and Vision
Riccardo Bottiroli, Co-Founder and CTO at Foreverland Food, expressed his thoughts that becoming the FoodTech World Cup winner would be an honour for them and a strong affirmation that they are on the right track. Partnerships with companies like Givaudan are essential for an early-stage startup like them as they can provide unique insights into the food industry and support growth.

The CEO and Founder at Legendary Foods, Shobhita Soor, explains that It’s an incredible opportunity for them to be runner-up in the FoodTech World Cup and work with a company like Givaudan, given their leadership in innovative food technology that has applications for markets all over the world.
He added that It provides a lot of validation for insect protein as an alternative protein source on a global platform and demonstrates the commitment of the FoodTech community to have truly inclusive and diverse solutions.
