Fawry invests $1.6 million in three Egyptian tech startups

Fawry, Egypt’s largest electronic payment platform, announced on February 26, 2025, a strategic investment of $1.6 million in three Egyptian fintech startups: Dirac Systems, Virtual CFO, and Code Zone. 

This move supports Fawry’s goal of developing its “Fawry Business” ecosystem to offer digital solutions to businesses across sectors.

Fawry investment details and strategic alignment

Fawry acquired majority stakes in these companies: 51 percent in Dirac Systems, 56.6 percent in Virtual CFO, and 51 percent in Code Zone. 

Dirac Systems specialises in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software and business automation, helping businesses streamline operations by optimising financial management, inventory tracking, and workflow automation.

Virtual CFO provides financial services, focusing on cash flow management and compliance for SMEs and startups. Code Zone develops business management tools, including CRM, HR, and financial management solutions, focusing strongly on the healthcare sector.

Ashraf Sabry, CEO of Fawry, emphasised that these acquisitions solidify Fawry’s position as a one-stop provider of digital business solutions, integrating fintech innovations, ERP systems, and financial tools to serve SMEs and large enterprises.

He noted, “These investments reinforce Fawry’s position as a one-stop digital business solutions provider by expanding “Fawry Business” suite in ERP and financial management tools, seamless digital payment integrations with advanced accounting and HR solutions, and tailored fintech innovations for SMEs, and large enterprises”.

Impact on Egypt’s virtual transformation

This investment is part of Fawry’s broader strategy to pressure Egypt’s virtual transformation and aid a cashless economy. Fawry continues to shape the region’s virtual bills and enterprise solutions quarter by fostering collaboration among established financial generation firms and emerging innovators.

The CEOs of Dirac Systems, Virtual CFO, and Code Zone expressed confidence that the partnership will boost commercial enterprise performance, extend ERP adoption, and power digital innovation across several industries in Egypt.

Fawry’s investment expresses the company’s confidence in the strength of Egyptian technology companies and local talent. It intends to pave the way for the introduction of digital transformation initiatives and Egypt’s cashless economy.
