Etihad, Emirates Airlines resume operations in Nigeria

UAE President Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu signed a historic agreement in Abu Dhabi to end the ban on Nigerian tourists visiting the UAE without a visa. This will also start a new era in the way the two countries get along.

Under the terms of the deal, Etihad Airlines and Emirates Airlines will start flying to and from Nigeria as soon as possible. Notably, the Nigerian government does not have to pay any money right away to get air travel between the two countries back up and running.

The Nigerian president’s plans for economic growth are a crucial part of this agreement. These plans have allowed several billions of dollars worth of extensive investments into Nigeria’s economy. These investments will be made in many different areas, like agriculture, defense, and more. Also, the Emirati government’s funding arms will be significant to these projects.

Al Nahyan and Tinubu launched an FX liquidity initiative.

President Tinubu and President Al Nahyan have agreed on a combined foreign exchange liquidity programme, which will be announced in the coming weeks. This programme should improve Nigeria-UAE economic relations.

Nigeria’s president, Bola Tinubu, thanked President Al Nahyan for his unwavering friendship and dedication to resetting and raising Nigeria-UA relations to a new level of excellence, as the historic agreement promises a better future for its people.

At first, Nigerians who wanted to go to the UAE couldn’t get visas because of safety and immigration worries. The UAE stopped giving Nigerians visas in March 2019 because of fake travel documents and safety worries. Some of these fears involved human trafficking and traveling with fake papers.

For security, immigration, or political reasons, countries can ban people from travelling to their country. Concerns about security and immigration led the UAE to ban Nigerian passengers. However, the ban was lifted after international talks and agreements.

UAE ties with future President Tinubu

The historic deal between Nigeria and the UAE has made many new projects possible. These efforts will depend on many things, including the goals of both countries.

Nigeria and the UAE could trade more. Bilateral trade could be improved by discussing ways to lower trade barriers and improve economic unity.

Infrastructure development projects are another way that people can work together. Both countries could look into ways to improve their economies and connect through transportation, energy, and communications.

People-to-people ties could grow between Nigeria and the UAE if they learn about each other’s cultures and share school experiences. These courses could help people from different cultures learn and work together.

Collaboration between security and defence could help with regional peace and fighting terrorism. This could help people work together to protect their shared values.

When the ban on visas is lifted, and flights start up again, tourist advertising may change. To boost tourism, promote tourist spots and share what you know about tourism.

Partnerships are a good idea in the fields of science and new ideas. Both countries could look for ways to collaborate on research, development, and investment in new technologies and innovation, which could help push technological progress forward.

Because there are still problems with world health, cooperation in healthcare may become more critical. This could mean sharing the best ways to do things, helping with medical studies, and improving healthcare infrastructure.

Also, humanitarian aid and development aid could become top concerns, with both countries working together to help places that need help. These projects would show how much they care about the well-being of the whole world.
