Ericsson empowers Omani ICT talent with Gen-E program

Ericsson officially launched its Gen-E Graduate Program in Oman on January 9, 2025, to empower local talent in the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) sector. 

This project, which emphasises developing the skills of Omani youth and fostering employment possibilities, aligns with Oman’s Vision 2040.

Oman’s youth are between 18 and 29 years old. Recent figures show that 19.4 per cent of Omani, or 544,983, are in this group.

Program Overview

The Gen-E Graduate Program provides a comprehensive learning experience through on-the-job training, project-based assignments, and online courses.

Participants will engage in critical areas such as 5G, Artificial Intelligence, and the Internet of Things (IoT). 

Abdullah Al Balushi, Country General Manager of Ericsson Oman, stated, “Through the Gen-E Graduate Program, we aim to empower young Omani talent with real-world learning opportunities”.

Graduates will have the opportunity to work on domestic and foreign projects in a multinational corporation, developing their technical proficiency.

Commitment to local talent

Ericsson’s program helps Oman’s digital economy and addresses the skills gap. 

Graduates will be placed in various positions at Ericsson, which will help them advance their careers and broaden their knowledge.

Al Balushi emphasised the importance of this program in preparing graduates for future challenges: “By equipping graduates with expertise in advanced technologies like 5G, AI, and IoT, we are aligning with Oman’s Vision 2040 goals”.
