Vertiv, a global company that makes solutions for digital infrastructure and business resilience, has finally opened a real office and showroom in Nigeria.
With the new office in Lagos, the company now has five offices in Africa. This comes after the company has been in the country for 21 years since it started doing business there in 2002.
Vertiv is a digital infrastructure company specializing in designing, building, and maintaining key technologies that help companies and organizations with a lot of data handle and improve their digital operations.
The company offers a wide range of power, thermal, IT, and edge infrastructure, solutions, and services in three main areas: its suite of offerings helps with all levels of data center needs, from hyper scalers to micro data center solutions; communication networks with macro site central office, small cell, and data center offerings; and commercial and industrial services in the healthcare, manufacturing, rail/mass transit, and power generation industries.

Wojtek Piorko, Vertiv’s Managing Director for Africa, told reporters that the company needs the new office to keep in close touch with its customers and grow its African network.
“We are opening customer experience centers and showrooms near customers and expanding our African network of authorized sales and service partners. He added a new organizational structure that emphasizes local talents and knowledge in our team, helping us meet our African clients’ needs.
Despite data centers being undemocratic in Nigeria, Vertiv considers it an important market for its services because Equinix and NTT Data are already there. Vertiv has completed significant projects for several prominent businesses, and more are coming.
“I read that Africa has 300 megawatts of data centers the same number as Italy. Africans have 1.5 billion, and Italians have 40 million. Future growth is assured. 70% of Nigerians are under 30. They are searching for content. They make content. As a digital generation, their future is bright.
According to him, Vertiv helps essential systems and apps run smoothly as companies increasingly use digital infrastructure. As data centres grow in Africa, Africa plays a significant part in its worldwide strategy.
In 2022, Xalam Analytics, a digital infrastructure investment firm, found that the African data center market had become one of the world’s fastest-growing commercial data center sectors. The African Data Centre Gigawatt found that at least 70 new facilities were developed between 2017 and 2022, with 2022 being the highest.
These initiatives have cost African data center providers $2 billion and added over 200 MW of commercial IT load capacity. Thus, Africa’s commercial data hosting capacity has increased and will double annually. Vertiv is opening offices near its African customers because Wojtek believes it will help the company develop.
Africa’s digital economy needs a vital data centre infrastructure to succeed. Vertiv can provide the digital infrastructure for local communications networks and business facilities to support digital transformation.
New Vertiv Nigeria office
The new local facility will give Nigerian customers and partners real-time experience with Vertiv thermal management, UPS, and integrated cabinet solutions supported by expert engineering.
These include the Vertiv SmartCabinet, a pre-configured, self-contained infrastructure solution that provides efficiency, economy, interoperability, and control, and the Vertiv Liebert EXS UPS, an optimized three-phase, high-efficiency power protection system with an integrated internal battery, maintenance bypass, and optional receptacle distribution.
Customers can also try VR in the customer showroom. Wearing a VR headset and hand controllers, visitors can interact with equipment, watch animations that show how to maximize space and efficiency in Vertiv products and examine Vertiv’s rack and row solutions as if they were on site.
The new center will also offer presales, sales, product, and full-service certification courses for Vertiv’s authorized service partners.
