Clearwater capital completes acquisition of SnoLink logistics

On Wednesday, Clearwater Capital, a private equity fund manager, announced the acquisition of SnoLink Logistics, the temperature-controlled storage and logistics arm of Etlin International, through a business rescue deal.

This strategic move reflects Clearwater’s long-standing interest in the sector and aims to enhance South Africa’s evolving supply chain by offering a reliable route to market.

Clearwater Capital acquires SnoLink logistics

The acquisition of SnoLink Logistics aligns with Clearwater Capital’s strategic goals, as Executive Chairman Harish Mehta noted: “This acquisition reflects South Africa’s evolving supply chain, offering a reliable and trustworthy route to market.”

Clearwater had been interested in this sector for several years, making this purchase a deliberate step in expanding their portfolio.

SnoLink Logistics will continue to serve its existing customer base, which includes several blue-chip retailers, ensuring continuity and stability for these clients.

Clearwater Capital plans for SnoLink logistics growth

Under Clearwater Capital’s ownership, SnoLink Logistics will maintain its workforce of 480 employees and embark on a national expansion to increase its capacity by 43 per cent.

A new facility is planned for Gqeberha, Eastern Cape, and construction will begin in 2026. This expansion will enhance the company’s ability to handle temperature-sensitive products like ice cream and mechanically deboned meat, providing importers greater confidence in accessing the South African market.

Christopher Nulliah, who will remain Managing Director, expressed excitement about navigating this new chapter under Clearwater Capital’s ownership.
