Cassava Technologies has announced several significant strategic changes to its executive team to drive the company to the next stage of growth and future competitiveness.
The London-based tech group made the announcement on Monday, stating that the inclusion of new members to the executive team will support the successful rearrangement of Cassava’s business to create an integrated digital solutions platform and the completion of the financing transaction.
The new appointments are effective March 1, 2025.

What the new executives will offer the company
The company claims that these executives’ extensive expertise will improve its capacity to offer broadband connectivity, cloud computing, cyber security, compute (AI), co-location (data centres), and payment services in over 30 markets in Africa, the Middle East, India, and Latin America.
Strive Masiyiwa, the company’s founder and Group’s chairman, launched Cassava in 2021 with the goal of achieving long-term success by developing the company’s ecosystem to its fullest potential in the nations it targets.
The strategy strives to match the company’s objectives with changing markets and technological advancements while fostering an innovative and adaptable culture within the business.
Cassava Technologies new executives and their roles
Cassava Technologies’ chief AI officer and COO, Ahmed El Beheiry, will oversee the company’s supply chain, CIO, business procedures, and commercial strategy.
Deon Geyser was appointed as the CEO of Liquid Networks for Cassava Technologies. In his new position, he will oversee all of Liquid’s fibre, satellite, wireless, wholesale voice, and connectivity services as well as the connectivity business throughout Africa.
Ziaad Suleman was named as the CEO of South African cassava company. As the company enters the next stage of expansion and maintains its competitiveness, he will spearhead the South African operations’ growth and innovation strategy.
Adil El Youssefi was named the new CEO of Cassava Technologies’s co-location business.
Wellington Makamure was appointed as the CEO of Cassava Technologies’ Rest of Africa and International division.
Cassava Technologies named Finhai Munzara as its Chief Corporate Development Officer. He will be in charge of corporate finance, strategic alliances, and mergers and acquisitions.
Cassava Technologies has appointed Bronwen Zehmke as its corporate general counsel.
Cassava Technologies’ chief risk and compliance officer is now Leonard Bore. He will oversee the teams in charge of internal audit, enterprise risk, compliance risk, and ESG.
Sharon Marufu was appointed as Cassava Technologies’s chief supply chain officer. She will be in charge of procurement and the group’s supply chain.
In Zimbabwe, Lorreta Songola will take over as Managing Director of cassava’s commercial activities.
