MTN Ghana handed over a cutting-edge ICT centre to Yilo Krobo Senior High School on Thursday, February 27, stating it had identified a digital learning gap that the centre could breach.
Yilo Krobo Senior High School is situated in Somanya, the Eastern Region of Ghana.
The facility was set up with 40 modern computers to equip pupils with fundamental ICT skills, the telecom operator said in a statement on Monday.
This initiative is the continuation of MTN Ghana’s Corporate Social Responsibility to make a meaningful impact in the community it serves.

MTN Ghana’s CSR
In its 2024 financial year report, MTN Ghana claimed it records notable progress in achieving its ESG (environment, social, and governance) goals. It exceeded its 12.5 percent environmental goal, reducing its carbon emissions by 15.8 percent as opposed to the baseline for 2021.
The installation of solar solutions and updated cooling systems at various data and switch centres significantly reduced carbon emissions.
Donation of STEM robotics lab to Mamfe Girls’ School in 2024
The Foundation completed and delivered a state-of-the-art 60-bed maternity and neonatal intensive care unit, an accident and emergency centre for the Bawjiase Polyclinic, computers and interactive whiteboards to the Eastern Regional Hospital, and a science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) robotics lab to the Mamfe Girls’ School in 2024.
Through its Enterprise Support Program, 150 micro, small, and medium-sized businesses (MSMEs) received financial assistance under the pillar of economic empowerment. Through its efforts, 50 small-scale female farmers were also exposed to contemporary farming methods.
The MTN Ghana Foundation is unwavering in its resolve to improve communities’ quality of life across Ghana.
The Foundation promises to execute more tech projects and economic empowerment goals in 2025.
With these projects, the telecom operator hopes to make a significant difference and further the progress of society.
“Through our Foundation’s initiatives and our consistent commitment to meeting our tax obligations to the government
and its agencies, we have continued to support our communities and the Ghanaian economy. Together, we are paving the way toward a brighter and more prosperous future,” the company stated in its 2024 financial year report.
