Media tab for easy content discovery
The new media tab allows users to view all photos and videos shared by a profile in one place, making content discovery more seamless.
This update aligns Threads with rivals like X and Bluesky, which recently introduced similar features.
As Meta continues pushing for user engagement, the media tab could also position Threads as a stronger competitor to video-heavy platforms like TikTok.

Photo tagging and markup tool for engagement
Threads now supports photo tagging, enabling users to tag others in images, just like on Instagram. This feature encourages more interaction and visibility within posts. Additionally, the markup tool, now available globally, allows users to highlight text and add their own commentary on posts, fostering better engagement.
These updates come as Threads surpasses 320 million monthly active users, showing steady growth despite rising competition. Meta continues to refine the platform with features like post scheduling, AI-powered trending summaries, and fediverse support, reinforcing its position in the social media space.
