Growth in numbers

Since its launch, Audiomack has achieved remarkable growth. Nigeria alone has recorded 58 billion streams of Afrobeats music since 2020, with 15.3 million monthly active users and 4.9 million daily active users.

The platform’s annual Afrobeats streams have surged by 258 percent, showcasing its pivotal role in the genre’s rise.

Notably, the playlist “Verified: Afrosounds” has garnered 167 million plays, while artist Seyi Vibez leads with an impressive 1.4 billion streams.

Charlotte Bwana, Audiomack’s VP of Marketing, emphasised the importance of local engagement: “Simply being able to be on the ground and work with as many artists as possible… helped us to scale to where we are today five years later”.

This hands-on approach has allowed Audiomack to tailor its services effectively to meet the needs of African artistes and listeners.

Empowering artistes

Audiomack’s success is not just about numbers; it reflects a broader commitment to empowering African creators. The platform provides artists with tools to share their music without barriers, fostering a vibrant community of musicians and fans.

By offering tailored data bundles in partnership with local telecoms, Audiomack ensures that streaming remains accessible to millions across Africa.

The anniversary also highlights Audiomack’s role amidst challenges other platforms in the region face. For instance, recent issues surrounding Boomplay’s payment delays have underscored Africa’s competitive landscape of digital streaming services. In contrast, Audiomack’s growth is a testament to its effective strategies and artist-first philosophy.
