About TasteDNA

TasteDNA, which is an American-based company, is the first app of its type, and it was designed specifically for food lovers who want to get suggestions for new foods and connect with other people who share their passion for eating.

Users of the app receive individualized recommendations for foods to eat that are tailored to their own flavour profiles as well as nutritional requirements. When customers sign up for the service, the app guides them through a series of questions designed to ascertain their unique flavour profile. These inquiries pertain to the users’ preferred foods, dietary restrictions, and other relevant considerations. Onboarding is a simple process.

The food recommendations grow more refined and customised over the course of time as the user continues to interact with the app and its technology, which is meant to study the user’s previous food choices and preferences. TasteDNA encourages consumers to broaden their gastronomic horizons by recommending delectable dishes from within as well as outside of their typical culinary traditions.  This allows people who are interested in food and maybe those who are interested in food to experience other cultures via their cuisine without having to worry about dietary constraints.

Muyiwa and Oyin Familoni, two intrepid travellers and the people behind the creation of TasteDNA, have visited over 65 cities spread across 25 nations. TasteDNA was motivated by the company’s founders’ passion for people, cuisine, travel, and different cultures. Between the two, they have tried more than one thousand eateries.

The company’s founders made the startling discovery that the majority of people who are open to trying new foods prefer to confine their culinary explorations to foods with which they are already familiar for a variety of reasons, including those related to their own diets.

The innovative technology behind TasteDNA paves the way for a whole new universe of gastronomic possibilities that are suited to the preferences and requirements of individual users. It is the ideal software for anyone who is interested in exploring different cuisines from across the world but is unsure how to get started. Additionally, the app gives users a forum in which they may discuss their experiences with food, make connections with other users, and research emerging food trends.

Remarks from the founder

Affiliate links/commission and sponsored promotion/recommendation are two revenue streams built by the creators, who have engineering, tech, and marketing backgrounds. Launched in May 2023, the app aims to reach 10,000 subscribers by Q1 2024.

According to Muyiwa Familoni, “The long-term goal of TasteDNA is to revolutionise our relationship with food. We are building a community of food enthusiasts through the app, online communities, and experiential events. We aim to have an active user base of 10 million and feature over 100,000 restaurants and dishes within the span of five years. Furthermore, our goal is to double our annual revenue, reaching a landmark of $10 million by the end of this period.”

How they hope to achieve this goal

They are achieving this by developing a community of food enthusiasts who enjoy various cuisines from across the world and holding physical “Taste the World” events to promote the platform and create a community of food lovers who are open to new and exciting experiences.

They have worked with famous chefs, restaurants, and culinary brands. Food delivery in America was expected to reach $467 billion in five years during the 2019 pandemic. TasteDNA offers Muyiwa and Oyin Familoni a unique value proposition in this market.
