African startups can attend VFA’s Go-To-Market bootcamp

Venture for Africa is a community that helps top global talent move into roles in the African tech startup ecosystem.

Its flagship three-month fellowship teaches participants about the differences in the local market, gives them expert-led training for key roles, and connects them with leading startups that are hiring right now.

The group works with startups to make its programmes, which include projects that fellows can actually do, workshops led by experts in specific areas, and the chance for fellows to move quickly through the interview process for their dream job after they finish the learning activities.

The Go-To-Market programme is the newest part of the growing VFA Bootcamp Series. It comes after the success of the first school in the series, Fintech Product Management, which is now in its second cohort.

Go-to-Market Bootcamp Outlines

The goal of the 10-week Go-To-Market Bootcamp is to turn the people who take it into growth assets by giving them a better understanding of the core tasks and skills needed on the sales side of the business.

The programme covers a wide range of topics, such as how to do market and customer research, how to look at the competitive landscape, how to message and position a brand, how to price and adapt a product or service, how to come up with launch marketing strategies, how to build partnerships, how to create a sales pipeline and much more. Participants will be able to use what they’ve learned from other fields in their own.

Each week, participants will take part in online masterclasses led by seasoned experts in the field. They will also be given readings, tasks, and fieldwork in the real world. Engaging material, real-world use cases, and interesting deliverables will be looked at so that all of the skills needed for go-to-market can be honed.

The course will be open to both people who are already working in their field and those who want to get into it. Participants who are a good fit have strong strategic and operational skills and want to learn more about working on growth and revenue teams. Mid-level people who have worked in marketing, sales, product, finance, or legal roles at an African tech startup and want to move up to more senior positions are also good candidates.

“The skills taught in the Go-To-Market Bootcamp are important for any business that wants to start up or grow in African markets and has a core team. Thea Sokolowski, the co-founder of Venture For Africa, said, “Since we started our Product Bootcamp last year, we’ve seen a lot of demand for something similar in this space. We’re excited to bring it to life, led by experienced talent from some of the best-known tech companies in the world.”

At the end of the bootcamp, Venture for Africa will use its large network to find great candidates for mid-level and senior jobs in growth and expansion at leading startups that are looking to hire.
