MTN Uganda Loyalty Program Now Offers aYo Insurance

Users of MTN Uganda may now purchase insurance from aYo in the form of life or hospital coverage using their MTN Senkyu reward points.

MTN Uganda is making it easier for more people to get insurance coverage through their loyalty program, which rewards people who use MTN services often. It is noteworthy because it will benefit those in the health and life insurance industries for the first time.

MTN’s Partnership with the Insurance Company

aYo is an insurance company that provides an easy way to get hospital and life cover. Register on your mobile phone for aYo Recharge with Care and get a minimum of 30 days’ aYo Cover every time you load MTN airtime. You can also add aYo Send with Care cover to the money you send home through MTN Mobile Money.

It is quick, convenient, and simple to use. In the past five years, the company has signed up 16 million consumers throughout the African continent and markets where it operates.

With this new addition to MTN Uganda’s already popular loyalty program, more people will be able to get insurance. Users who sign up for aYo Insurance through the MTN Senkyu Loyalty program are guaranteed that aYo will cover their medical expenses in the case of an emergency or accident. aYo also provides financial support to the departed person’s family in the event of their death.

Susan Kayemba, the senior manager of digital services for MTN Uganda, announced the new development and stated that it is just another example of MTN’s dedication to providing its consumers with the upsides of a digitally connected life.

Allan Lwanga, the CEO of aYo Uganda, says that insurance coverage effectively promotes financial inclusion because it gives regular Ugandans a social safety net that helps them get back on their feet after unplanned crises.

Lwanga continues. We’ve always thought that insurance in Uganda should be available to everyone and simple to use. We will be able to reach even more people by enabling users to purchase aYo insurance using Senkyu at a time when more and more Ugandan users are purchasing the insurance to safeguard themselves and their families in the event of hospitalization or fatality.

Solomon Rubondo, a former official with the Insurance Brokers Association of Uganda, told the media that aYo and MTN had simplified the idea of insurance.

He also said, “I applaud MTN and aYo for tackling the intangibility of insurance and making it possible for more people who could not get it before.” Let’s see more developments like this in insurance. Let’s domesticate insurance even further.

The Director of Supervision for the Insurance Regulatory Authority, Bernard Obera, liked what MTN and aYo did. He advised insurers to use innovations to provide insurance services to more individuals.

As part of his responsibilities in this role, he will offer assistance to his colleague CEOs as they work to further aYo’s vision of ensuring that all Africans have access to life and hospital coverage that is readily available, easy to obtain, and within their financial means.

“Francis is an experienced leader who, to this day, is responsible for building the most successful of aYo’s subsidiaries. According to Botha, “We have faith that his knowledge and insights developed in Ghana will unlock higher value in the other markets as well, helping them to reach scale in terms of both revenue and active client base.”

    About aYo

In January of 2017, aYo began operations in Uganda, and since then, the company has expanded its reach to Ghana, Zambia, and Côte d’Ivoire. Using a model of insurance known as “pay as you go,” the company has become a major player in the African micro insurance market as a result of its rapid expansion. This model provides policyholders with the flexibility to have the cover they require at any given time.

Gota stated that there was a “huge possibility” to drive development in aYo’s existing markets and he was optimistic about the prospects. We can’t take a “one size fits all” approach because each market has its own unique nuances, and it’s important to remember that.

“It’s important to realize that each market has its own unique nuances. Having said that, there is an undeniable rise in people’s knowledge of financial service products such as micro-insurance, and “we can capitalize on this to rapidly grow the number of Africans who are covered,” he stated.

    More About Insurtech Companies

Insurtech companies such as aYo create and distribute financial protection products that are reasonably priced, can be quickly underwritten, and provide coverage for relatively short periods of time. These products may include hospital

cover for accidents and general illness, for example. As such, it is a major enabler of financial inclusion in African markets, offering a much-needed social safety net that assists vulnerable people, in particular persons with little or irregular earnings, to remain afloat in the event that anything unexpected takes place.

aYo Holdings is an African insurtech company that is wholly owned by the multinational telecommunications corporation MTN.

aYo Holdings Implements Cloud Based Enterprise Resource for Growth

aYo Holdings, an African insurtech, has taken the next step in its continuing technological transformation by implementing a cloud-based enterprise resource planning (ERP) system to support its ambitious growth goals across the continent.

MTN owns 100% of aYo, which has more than 16 million customers using its microinsurance products in Uganda, Ghana, Zambia, and Côte d’Ivoire. Its goal is to become Africa largest financial services technology platform by providing a range of affordable and accessible micro-financial services.

The company-new Oracle NetSuite ERP system replaces its previous on-premise solution, which struggled to keep up with the demands of a growing organization.

What To Know About aYo Holding’s New Enterprise System

According to aYo CFO Adrian Kloke, the deployment will provide the control, agility, and cost-effectiveness that the company requires to sustain its rapid expansion and seize new market opportunities.

Having a single unified cloud-based platform that is adaptable and adaptive for our current business needs will improve our overall business operations.” From a scalability standpoint, NetSuite will also help us standardize operations, improve business insights, and serve our clients more efficiently, thereby enhancing future saleability,” Kloke added.

The implementation was carried out by Linked ERP, an Oracle NetSuite Solution Provider with a proven track record of assisting organizations in migrating from old software to the NetSuite ERP platform.

“Businesses may support increased growth, expansion, and profitability by digitizing business processes with scalable and secure business management systems.” Carel Bouwer, MD of Linked ERP, said, “aYo has built a robust cloud platform that will provide the visibility and control needed to fuel growth and enhance business resilience.”

    The Results So Far

aYo move to the cloud has already resulted in a major redesign of the company’s technical backend and data management strategy.

It switched to a cloud data warehousing model last year, adopting Snowflake as a solution, in order to better grow and use large volumes of consumer data.

“As our customers move to a world where financial services are easily accessible via mobile phones and transactions are transacted via apps and other channels,” Kloke said, “we need to respond with a platform business model that will allow us to scale quickly while cost-effectively managing material volumes of nano transactions.”
