AVEVA reduce carbon footprints through tech innovations

As stated in its 2023 Sustainability Progress Report, AVEVA, a multinational industrial software company, has dramatically decreased its carbon footprint through technical breakthroughs.

In its report, the corporation claimed to have surpassed its 2025 objective by reducing Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 93%.

With integrated power usage measurement technologies in 31% of its portfolio, AVEVA claimed to have set a new benchmark for green software.

“We recognise that our biggest opportunity to make a positive impact and accelerate our journey towards NetZero is through our core products: digital solutions that can help industries improve efficiency, circularity, traceability, and resilience,” said Lisa Wee, Global Head of Sustainability at AVEVA.

Wee announced that during the first six months, AVEVA’s green logo programme has helped 25 customers implement cleantech initiatives.

Furthermore, 13 new case studies that quantify the emissions reduction made possible by AVEVA software show the company’s observable sustainability accomplishments.

“AVEVA’s Sustainability Accelerator programme aims to enable faster uptake of existing sustainability solutions across the industrial landscape while we continue to invest in product capabilities and partnerships that will push the frontiers of sustainability innovation for the industry,” said Joana Mainguy, the program’s director of sustainability.

AVEVA, Azule Energy partner to enable world-class digital operations

Azule Energy, Angola’s largest independent oil and gas operator, has struck a relationship with AVEVA, the world’s top industrial software provider, to drive innovation and sustainability.

The purpose of this collaboration is to bring digital excellence to Azule Energy’s operations and activities.

The cooperation deal will allow Azule Energy, a 50/50 Joint Venture supported by BP and Eni, to save costs, improve safety, and open up new production prospects by utilising AVEVA’s cloud, Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), and digital twin technologies.

These objectives will be met concurrently.

Impact of the Partnership between AVEVA and Azule Energy

The alliance will also assist in minimising the amount of time spent seeking information about vital assets, enhancing the planning of maintenance, reducing the amount of travel and visits to offshore locations, boosting teamwork, and making it easier to conduct remote operations.

Azule Energy has a robust pipeline of new projects, which will assist the growing economy of Angola in meeting its energy requirements and enhancing its position as a global supplier of liquefied natural gas (LNG).

AVEVA will employ the software for its digital twin to combine data from all of the layers of the technological stack into a unified, multi-visual experience that is contextualised. AVEVA will concentrate its efforts in the first phase on operations that are already underway. Specifically, the company will implement AVEVA Asset Information Management, AVEVA Information Standards Manager, and Assai Cloud for Operations for two floating production storage and offloading units (FPSOs) that are already operational in Block 18 (Greater Plutonio Development) and Block 31. (PSVM).

The digital twin technology offered by AVEVA is the only product now available that is capable of supporting an asset over its entire existence. The solution is open, scalable, and compatible with all available vendors. It establishes a genuine digital backbone by combining engineering and corporate data, which will provide Azule’s team access to industrial insight. This will allow Azule to better serve its customers.

    Remark from the Executives

Peter Harriman, COO of Azule Energy, stated that ““We have signed a strategic contract with AVEVA to digitally transform our operations to make them more productive, efficient, and safe.” With this agreement, Azule Energy will be able to reach its goal of becoming a world-class business.”

The Chief Executive Officer of AVEVA, Caspar Herzberg, stated that “Moving to AVEVA SaaS will allow Azule Energy to come up with new ideas and work together remotely on their FPSO assets. The ships are placed a long way out to sea, which makes running them a big task.”

The ships are stationed at a distance from shore, which makes it challenging to navigate the waters and operate them. The crew of The Azule will be capable of breaking down silos and creating simpler ways for teams on land and the FPSO to communicate with one another by using data-driven insights. This will be accomplished. They are going to pool their knowledge in order to enhance operations and provide results more quickly.

“AVEVA’s industry-leading visualization technology will help Azule Energy deliver faster and on a larger scale,” stated Herzberg.

Only AVEVA is capable of providing a fully integrated system that can be constructed rapidly while maintaining a high level of dependability. We are dedicated to providing Angola with energy that is both reliable and minimal in carbon emissions in order to facilitate the country’s further expansion.
