StarTimes TV in Nigeria
StarTimes Nigeria is a division of StarTimes Media. The TV network service was launched in 2010 thanks to an agreement between the Nigeria Television Authority (NTA) and Chinese Media Partners. As a result, StarTimes TV was the first TV network to use DVB-T (Digital Video Broadcast on Terrestrial) technology in Nigeria. It’s interesting to note that the DVB-T television receiving technology may operate without a satellite dish installation. To intercept this type of signal transmission, however, an installed and linked ariel terrestrial antenna is required.
However, the cable tv eventually introduced its first satellite TV service. Dish TV, a new satellite pay-TV service network from Startimes, utilises DTH (Direct-to-Home) technology. In order to receive transmissions in this category, a Startimes satellite dish installation and decoder settings with frequencies are necessary.
Startimes Nigeria offers 4 main bouquets that subscribers can enjoy. These packages include Nova bouquet, Basic bouquet, Classic bouquet and Unique bouquet.
