South African fintech, Ukheshe appoints New COO

The South African financial technology company, Ukheshe, has announced a new appointment that will enable the company to unlock value and drive fast expansion.

Lee Ziervogel, who was recently promoted to the position of Chief Operating Officer at the fintech enablement company Ukheshe, is a hands-on business leader who possesses excellent people skills. He is also of the opinion that genuine commercial success calls for ethics that are centered on the customer.

Before taking on the role of a chief operating officer at Ukheshe, she held the position of president of customer delivery and success at the company. Her strategy centered on the importance of the people she worked with.

Ziervogel had this to say about her new position: “I was directing the section of the organization that is responsible for ensuring that we keep our commitments to our customers.” This has to take place from a number of different vantage points, including regulatory and compliance, development, legal, and marketing, as well as all of the relevant cross-functional groups. Keeping one’s word to one’s clients is one of the most important aspects of running a successful company, and it’s a responsibility that I’m excited to take on in my new position.

Ziervogel needed to have a comprehensive knowledge of the company in order to fulfill this task, which would eventually qualify her as the most qualified candidate for the position of chief operating officer.

According to what she mentioned, “My previous role required me to regularly meet with all of the unit heads, unpacking what they did, understanding what their offering was, establishing what they required to implement client solutions, and then putting together a framework that enabled visibility and reporting across all projects.” To put it simply, it meant taking care of the whole customer experience, from cultivating an ongoing connection with the client to ensuring the success of the customer by providing assistance and operations.

Ziervogel has the credentials of a chartered accountant, but her experience is oriented more toward a client-focused perspective. She has prior experience working in a variety of sectors, such as the public sector and professional services, where she was responsible for leading business transformation, strategy execution, as well as the design and implementation of solutions. Her prior experience also includes working in the mobile and technology sectors.

According to her LinkedIn profile, Ziervogel has led business system transformation, strategy execution, solution design, and implementation in a number of fields, such as SARS modernization, Affinion Mobile, and Discovery International Vitality Group.

She is able to engage with and counsel at the executive level while also efficiently managing teams on the ground. She is imaginative and focused on finding solutions, and she has a natural talent for business and technology.

She feels that taking on the extra responsibilities that come with Ziervogel’s promotion will give her the capacity to implement out-of-the-box solutions more quickly.

“The thing I’m looking forward to the most is having the kind of broad focus that will make it possible for me to unlock value and propel quick development.” And I couldn’t be more thrilled to be working with the creators of Ukheshe to bring their idea of allowing integrated finance via a world-class fintech platform one step closer to reality.
