MediaTek, Airtel Nigeria to improve mobile connectivity in Nigeria

A partnership between MediaTek, a major worldwide fabless semiconductor firm based in Taiwan, which provides power to almost 2 billion connected devices each year, and Airtel Nigeria, a significant telecoms service provider, has recently been announced.

The collaboration intends to accelerate technological improvements and improve mobile connectivity across the country. It will also witness the incorporation of hundreds of millions of persons into the digital economy, which will ultimately result in improved mobile connectivity across Nigeria.

This partnership draws attention to the ground-breaking Customer Premises Equipment (CPE) powered by MediaTek’s T750 platform, which improves internet connectivity. This breakthrough makes it possible for people to access high-speed 5G networks without having to leave the comfort of their own homes. This paves the way for previously unimaginable levels of remote work, gaming, online education, and streaming entertainment.

The T750 is capable of delivering exceptional 5G speeds right out of the box, reaching up to an astonishing 4.7Gbps. It offers performance that is comparable to or even exceeds that of conventional fixed-line services, making use of the existing cellular infrastructure while avoiding the costs involved with cable or fibre construction.
