Critical upgrades in E-Color Shift 2.0
This latest version comes with three major upgrades. The first is that E-Color Shift 2.0 draws power from the phone’s internal battery, allowing for seamless, on-the-go colour changes. Secondly, the 3D four-curved back cover brings a sleek design compatible with a broader range of phone models.
Finally, the expanded colour-shifting zones now offer 46 customisable areas, allowing for more intricate and personalised designs than ever before.
How E-Color Shift 2.0 Works
The system is powered by the Prism3S diaphragm, which contains pigment particles that respond to voltage shifts, resulting in colour changes across the 46 zones. E-Color Shift 2.0 integrates several AI-driven capabilities to enhance user experience further. AI Color Matching allows the back cover to adjust its colours based on the dominant hues of user-selected photos, while **AI Weather Response translates weather conditions in images into abstract colour patterns. AI Emotion Matching can also identify facial expressions in portrait photos and apply corresponding colours and designs.
Infinix has long been at the forefront of color-shifting technology. The journey began in 2021 with the introduction of a dual-colour-changing back cover that used electrochromic and electroluminescent technologies.
The following year, Infinix advanced its capabilities by launching Light-Painting Leather, which furthered its photochromic technology.
Early 2024 saw the debut of E-Color Shift 1.0, which laid the groundwork for the advanced features now seen in version 2.0.
The e-Color Shift 2.0 concept is not limited to colouring; what a customer sees goes beyond beautification. It also caters for a rising trend of consumer customisation.
Front-screen wallpapers have been the only form of customisation for customers previously; however, thanks to this new technology, Product Director Weiqi Nie says that users can now even change the back cover designs since it has become innovative with AI capabilities.
This innovation targets young, incredibly demanding headset users who want more communicative devices to capture and portray their feelings and experiences.
