Flutterwave launches ‘tuition’ payments in local currency for Nigerians in Diasporas 

Flutterwave, a leading payments technology company, has released a new payment product  ‘Tuition’.

The purpose of this new payment product is to enable consumers in Africa to easily pay various fees to educational institutions inside Africa and beyond using their respective local currencies. On Tuition, students have access to a variety of educational institutions, including high schools, universities, colleges, and even some international edutech platforms.

The objective of tuition is to make it easier for students to make payments and complete transactions, with the goal of easing the burden of paying school fees for students studying both domestically and internationally. The new service gives students, parents, guardians, and sponsors the ability to pay school fees to over 40 institutions in the United Kingdom. There are plans to add more institutions in more nations in Africa and other parts of the world in the near future.

It has been stated that a variety of obstacles have made it difficult for African countries to make payments to schools located in other countries. Africans have had difficulty ensuring that their monies are dispersed to abroad financial institutions in the shortest amount of time feasible due to the high cost of transactions, limited access to banking services, lack of transparency, security concerns, and currency exchange rates. These issues have made it difficult for Africans to ensure that their funds are safe.

The new offering will make it easier, more secure, and more dependable for parents to pay their children’s school fees by utilizing Flutterwave’s cutting-edge payments technology solution. It is now possible for parents, guardians, and sponsors in the UK to make payments directly to educational institutions, and they are able to quickly track the progress of their transactions by reviewing the history and status of their payments using the Tuition web app.
