Tech enthusiasts and experts are anticipated to make some daring forecasts and projections at the next Nigeria ICT Impact CEO meeting in Lagos.
This was disclosed in a statement by Tayo Adewusi, organiser of the forum, set to take place on November 18, 2023.
He explained that these forecasts and projections will assist both the federal government and state governments in making choices that are based on accurate information.
Tech-savvy CEOs and the most talented Nigerians are expected to attend the event to discuss the ecosystem’s potential in the years to come.
According to the release, “The 2023 Nigeria ICT Impact CEO forum will assess how technology influences business and “project into the future.” This event is a must-attend for those who are interested in the deployment of ICT to improve efficiency and productivity.”

Focus for the 2023 Nigeria ICT Impact CEO forum
This year’s forum will focus on ‘National Challenges and the Imperative of Relevant and Timely Data,’ which is the title of the event’s topic. Players from both private and public settings, as well as regulatory authorities, will be able to participate.
The recently appointed Minister of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani, is anticipated to attend the event as the special guest, while Governor Engr. Seyi Makinde will serve as the event’s chairman. The event will be held in Oyo State.
In addition, the Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun (MFR), who will serve as the event’s guest governor, as well as the Executive Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Professor Umar Danbatta, who will make a keynote address, are also scheduled to attend.
Adewusi stated that the Africa Digital Awards, which is currently in its 11th year, will be held simultaneously with the Nigeria ICT Impact CEO Forum. This is a well-established platform that recognises and honours notable individuals, government agencies, and state governors who have “deployed the potent power of ICT to execute ideas,” and Adewusi stated that the Africa Digital Awards will take place simultaneously with the Nigeria ICT Impact CEO Forum.
There will be presentations of eight notable papers. Dr Vincent Olatunji, the Chief Executive Officer of the Nigeria Data Protection Commission, will speak on “National Challenges and the Imperative of Relevant and Timely Data.” Engr. Ike Nnamani, the President of Medallion Data Centre, will speak on “Measuring Rural Access,” and Engr. Mohammed Funtua, the MD/CEO of Nigcomsat, will deliver a paper on “the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR).”
It is anticipated that the Managing Director of Galaxy Backbone, Prof. Muhammed Abubakar, will deliver a paper on the topic of “Providing concrete examples of the potential use of Big Data for monitoring the indicators associated with the sustainable development goals ((SDGs)”, whereas the Chief Executive Officer of VDT, Engr. Biodun Omoniyi will present a paper on the topic of “Big Data & the Internet: How ISPs are using analytics to help customers.”
NCC to strengthen quality service regulations in Nigerian telecom sector
Mr. Kyari Bukar, Managing Director of Inlaks, will deliver a paper presentation on the topic of “the role of big data in financial technology.”
The Chief Executive Officer of MTN Nigeria, Karl Toriola, will also be a speaker, and he will discuss Mobile Phone Data. Big Data Analytics in Cybersecurity will be a topic that will be discussed by Dr. Adewale Obadare, Co-founder and Chief Visionary Officer of Digital Encode.
Participants such as the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NIPC), Nigeria Communications Satellite Limited (NIGCOMSAT), Galaxy Backbone Limited, the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC), the National Office for Technology Acquisition and Promotion (NOTAP), the Association of Licenced Telecoms Operators of Nigeria (ALTON), and the Association of Telecom Companies of Nigeria are anticipated to be present at the event.
