The real value of the iPhone

The world’s most well-known company, Apple Inc., produces the iPhone line of smartphones, which combines technology for a mobile phone, digital camera, music player, and personal computer. The gadget’s first release in the US occurred in 2007 after more than two years of development.

The iPhone was subsequently made available in Asia and Europe in 2007.

Apple , which makes one of the most widely used smartphones as of the end of 2021, held the top rank in the smartphone market share, often exchanging positions with Samsung. Its first mobile smartphone was designed to run on the Mac OS X operating system, which gained popularity on the company’s personal computers.

The device’s most innovative component was its touch-sensitive multisensor interface. Users may operate all programs and telephone functions with their fingertips instead of a pen or physical keyboard, owing to the touchscreen. This interface, which Apple perfected if not created, imitated a tactile physical experience; for example, a user might pinch to expand photos or flick through music albums to flip between albums. Other features of the iPhone were tabbed contact lists, visual voicemail, digital cameras, music, and video playback, digital cameras, and visual voicemail.

Many people buy the iPhone to gain social status, but is that the point?

The iPhone has evolved with innovation and helped make companies and customers more sustainable. Apple is fostering innovation in the fields of energy, transportation, health, and privacy by collaborating with partners to create a connected future. With every new series, the device offers unparalleled performance and software features created for the future.

In 2007, Apple unveiled the iPhone with a small flat display using their first flexible OLED technology. As the first smartphone in history with a paper-thin design and big touch screen, the iPhone sparked worldwide innovation, improved the smartphone market, and was the first device to go on sale for an almost unheard-of $600. With a surprisingly small size that makes it easy to handle and operate, the iPhone is still pushing the limits of what is now achievable more than 10 years later.

Apple made it even simpler for companies to be more sustainable by combining cutting-edge capabilities into a single smartphone.

The iPhone is still evolving. With Samsung as a rival in certain areas and capabilities like face recognition and attractive mobile advertising, it has established a reputation as one of the greatest gadgets available.

We can now do more than ever due to the revolutionary changes brought about by mobile technology and the iPhone. Apple is a pioneer in its field and consistently comes up with inventive methods to produce ethical, compassionate, and sustainable goods.

The company’s work has evolved over the last 24 months from a ground-breaking new product to a truly global technological platform. Everyone is thrilled by this strong new voice of personal freedom and connection, from shoppers and merchants to governments and private institutions.

The iPhone has always been fundamentally about fusing the finest of Apple’s hardware and software with the greatest of human connections. It has been successful in bringing ideals, fundamental concepts, and advancements in sustainability together to keep up with that commitment.

Over the years, the iPhone has transformed how we use technology and continually pushed the envelope. Millions now use it as a status symbol, and millions more get inspiration from it. Many people use their iPhones for communication, entertainment, education, productivity, and convenience. Apple has inspired billions of people around the world.

The best gadget for applications, music, and navigation is now the iPhone. Our actions as people are bending the ability of our ecosystems to sustain the mounting demands we place on them. Apple has promised to take seriously its role in climate change and sustainability by researching and coming up with new ideas for all of its products.

    Apple Wearables

Apple’s services division includes iTunes and Apple TV. AirPods and other wearables have proliferated.

Apple’s services and wearables extend to the iPhone and other devices. Apple’s 14% (-$22 billion) drop in iPhone sales for 2019 does not indicate a dismal year.

The company’s services and wearables divisions grew by $6.5 billion and $7.1 billion, respectively. $13.6 billion offsets the 2018 iPhone revenue drop of $22 billion. Services and wearables outpaced iPhone sales, which dipped 14% in 2018. Apple bolsters iPhone sales with services and wearables.

What Benefits Can an iPhone User Expect?

Apple’s iPhone is no longer considered to be the standard definition of a “smartphone” as it once was because of rising competition. The iPhone is still the preferred phone for many people, despite competition from other manufacturers like Samsung and Android. The iPhone is presently offered by all the major U.S. mobile service carriers and includes a stylish design, is easy to use, and has quick surfing speeds. The iPhone is a must-have among consumers because of a number of additional functions and benefits.

    FaceTime

FaceTime utilizes the iPhone’s front-facing camera to allow high-definition video calls with other iPhone users. FaceTime video conversations over cellular data are now supported on the iPhone 5. FaceTime is a personal method to keep in contact with family, friends, and customers.

    Camera

People are swapping digital cameras for iPhone cameras. Some iPhones include an 8-megapixel iSight camera that is 40% faster than previous versions and can capture 28-megapixel, 240-degree panoramas. Apple’s iSight takes 1080p video.

    iCloud

The iPhone works with Macs, iPads, and iPods. The iPhone distributes data, music, photos, and contacts through iCloud. This simplifies product data transfer. iCloud transmits iPhone images to your computer to be edited.

    Benefits

iPhone users get extras. The Apple App Store has 800,000 apps, many free. Siri can help you find a restaurant, access an app, and call a repair service.

“1 million Facebook accounts” may have been hijacked, says Meta

Researchers at Meta Inc., a company specialising in information security, have found over 400 “scammy apps” on the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store designed to steal users’ Facebook login information.

The team at Meta acknowledged that these applications often require users to “Log In with Facebook” before accessing certain functionalities. According to the company, these apps try to look like “fun or useful” services, like picture editors, camera apps, VPN services, horoscope apps, and programs that track your fitness.

David Agranovich, the company’s Director of Threat Disruption, stated that many of the discovered applications “were barely functional” and said that they offered little functionality before logging in. According to him, “the majority had no functionality even once a user logged in.”

Meta warns 1 million Facebook users that third-party applications from Apple or Google’s stores may have exposed their account information. Most of these applications were harmful in both Google’s Play Store and Apple’s App Store, although most were Android apps.

An Engadget writer who attended the briefing stated that the malicious Android applications were largely consumer apps, such as picture filters, while the 47 iOS apps were nearly solely “business utility” apps. These services have titles like “Very Business Manager,” “Meta Business,” “FB Analytic,” and “Ads Business Knowledge.”

The briefing’s leader, Agranovich, claimed his organization shared its results with Apple and Google. “It was up to the shops to delete the applications,” the director said.

  • How to Check BVN on Your Mobile Phone Number

How to Check BVN on Your Mobile Phone Number

The Bank Verification Number, commonly called BVN, is a biometric identification system introduced in Nigeria in February 2014 by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) after it implemented its cashless policy, majorly to curb or reduce illegal banking transactions in Nigeria.

It is a modern security measure in line with the Central Bank of Nigeria Act 1958 to reduce fraud in the banking system. The system works by recording fingerprints and a facial photograph of the individual. The BVN or Bank verification number is an 11-digit number unique to each individual and can be verified across all financial institutions in Nigeria.

The BVN database is the most reliable and comprehensive data source in the Nigeria Financial Industry, warehousing over 38 million unique BVNs, which are intrinsic to every individual whose profile has been captured.

BVN verifies and verifies the customers’ identities seamlessly across multiple and interoperable electronic platforms. The BVN database is searched to display relevant information about an individual; this is called bio-data (it includes names, phone numbers, addresses, and dates of birth).

To own and operate a banking account in Nigeria, you must register a bank verification number. Once you open your bank account, a BVN is issued to you. This BVN can be used when next you need to open another bank account in Nigeria.

To address existing challenges with identity management, the Central Bank of Nigeria, in collaboration with all Nigerian banks, launched the centralised biometric identification system tagged Bank Verification Number (BVN).

Biometrics refers to identifying an individual based on physiological attributes- fingerprint, voice, facial features etc. With the continuous incidents of compromise on conventional security systems (password and PIN), there is a high demand for greater security on access to sensitive or personal information in the Banking system.

There have been some controversies about the security implication of having all bank accounts in different banks linked to one number, but the BVN has come to stay. Issues arose where fraudsters attempted to use the system’s launch to phish for customers’ bank details.

    How to Check BVN Online

Thanks to technology, you can easily check your BVN by dialing a USSD code or asking your bank to provide you with that information. It’s easy to check your BVN details online via the BVN validation portal. NIBSS BVN portal was created to retrieve and validate your BVN details online. Through the NIBSS BVN portal, you can check your BVN number, BVN name, address, phone number, and other BVN details.

Requirements to check BVN details via the NIBSS online portal:

    • Before you can access your bank verification number and other details online via this portal, you’ll have to keep your BVN close by and your date of birth. Why? It’s a security measure set up to ensure that you are the owner of the BVN who wants access to the information contained in the BVN.Npower Recruitment.
    • Secondly, you’ll have to keep your ATM card close because the service isn’t free, and you’ll be charged NGN 25 service fee.
    • Once you have all the above requirements, you can now proceed with checking your BVN details online.

How to Check BVN Online via the BVN validation portal:

    • Once your payment has been confirmed, you’ll be redirected to a page with all the information about your BVN.

While this is an excellent method to check your BVN online, the disadvantage is that you must know your BVN before using the service. However, if you don’t know your BVN, I’ll show you an alternate method to check your BVN.

If it’s not the BVN you are after, then you can use this approach to retrieve your BVN and then use the BVN in the NIBSS portal to access other information in your BVN.

To use this USSD code approach. You will have to use the exact number you used during your BVN registration, you can also view your BVN on any telecommunication network without hassle. However, unlike the online method, this service is not free, and you’ll be charged a service fee of a minimum of NGN 20.

  • LG could be developing a 6G network

LG could be developing a 6G network

For many customers, 5G is still a long way off, but some companies have already started researching and building the next generation of wireless networks, 6G. It would appear that LG is now in the lead in this competition.

The company recently said that it had successfully tested the wireless transmission and reception of 6G terahertz (THz) data from 155 to 175 GHz over a distance of 320 meters.

    LG first test

On September 7, the South Korean business conducted the test at the Fraunhofer Heinrich Hertz Institute (HHI) in Berlin, Germany. LG says that the base stations for urban macro cells have a reference cell coverage of about 250 meters outside. So, this is a very important step toward making 6G THz commercially available indoors and outdoors in cities. Urban macro cell base station coverage is approximately 250 metres.

The 6G technology has a restricted range because it operates on ultra-wideband frequencies. Additionally, the transmission and reception of data using this technology can result in a loss of power. To solve these problems, LG, Fraunhofer HHI, and the Fraunhofer Institute for Applied Solid State Physics (IAF) worked together to create a power amplifier that can improve transmission strength and a receiver low-noise amplifier that can improve the quality of incoming signals. LG created these amplifiers.

In the most recent demonstration, LG and Fraunhofer HHI & IAF used a multi-channel amplifier with an output of more than 20 dBm. This is an improvement of more than 5 dBm over the previous solution. This makes it good for making ICs (integrated circuits) in the future and makes it easier to move from research and development to make it available to the public. The receiver also had a low-noise amplifier during the reception, significantly reducing the noise.

LG’s most recent module design uses these new technologies. This makes it suitable for making ICs (integrated circuits) in the future and makes it easier to move from research and development to making it available to the public.

Dr Kim Byoung-hoon, LG Electronics’ chief technology officer and executive vice president, stated that the company is one step closer to achieving 6G speeds of 1 terabit (TB) per second in both indoor and outdoor urban areas as a result of the success of their most recent demonstration.

“LG will continue to work with research institutes and industry leaders to strengthen its position as a leader in 6G technology.” We think 6G will be a big part of businesses’ future growth and bring about exciting new user experiences. We’d rather be at the forefront of its development than anywhere else.

The results will be shared with the public soon

The company has said that at the upcoming 6G Grand Summit, which will take place on September 23 at the LG Science Park in Seoul, it will share the full results of its most recent 6G communications test and give an overview of how the technology has changed up to this point. The company also said that it would give an overview of how the technology has changed up to this point.

Together with the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) and the Korea Research Institute of Standards and Science (KRISS), the event will take place.

It is clear that this technology will take a long time to develop. In fact, it will be a few years before we even start talking about the 6G standards, and most of us probably won’t be able to use it until at least 2030. The data transfer speeds of 6G wireless networks will be far better than those of 5G wireless networks, and they will also have lower latency and improved reliability.

  • Google releases a feature for Android called “Clear Calling”

Google releases a feature for Android called “Clear Calling”

According to recent reports, Google is working on a feature for users of Android devices dubbed “Clear Calling.”  The report by Android Authority, based on Mishaal Rahman’s discoveries, it was found in the most recent version of the Android 13 Quarterly Platform Release (QPR1 Beta).

This feature can be used by manually turning on the settings on his phone. They demonstrate that calls made using Clear Calling will function on most mobile networks. On the other hand, you won’t be able to make calls over Wi-Fi with it. On the settings page, it is also said that Google will not receive any information about the content of your calls, so you do not need to worry about the confidentiality of your discussions.

The noise cancellation feature of Google Meet is designed to eliminate several types of background noise, like the sounds of typing, the sound of a door closing, the noise from a nearby construction site, and many more. With Clear Calling, Google may be able to expand upon the sources of noise to improve the regular call quality of an Android smartphone. This would be accomplished by adding the ability to filter out noise coming from the road, background talking, and other sources.

If you are familiar with how to use ADB commands, you may immediately enable the Clear Calling feature on any Android device you own. After the feature has been enabled, users can access the toggle for it under the Sounds & vibrations menu. Because Google has not yet made it official, it is currently unknown whether or not it will work as intended.

    Observations on Clear Calling feature

In today’s world, smartphone owners who have access to the internet through their device’s mobile data plan can use voice calling applications for their calls anytime the quality of their calls is inferior to that of normal phone calls. Nevertheless, an improvement in the call quality offered by carriers is something that almost everyone will value and appreciate.

  • Google offers a suite of widgets for the iPhone’s lock screen with iOS 16

Google offers a suite of widgets for the iPhone’s lock screen with iOS 16

Apple’s most popular apps, including Search, Maps, Gmail, and more, will soon be accessible directly from the iPhone’s lock screen, the company revealed this morning. iOS 16, the newest version of Apple’s mobile operating system, can be downloaded today.

These small widgets are three different sizes: a circle, a rectangle, and an inline line of text and symbols displayed above the lock screen’s clock.

What are the new changes on iOS 16?

With it, iPhone owners can now add widgets to the lock screen and the home screen to make their phones more personal.

In a recent blog post, Apple showed the widgets available in iOS 16. These widgets include a Search widget that will allow users to initiate a Google search directly from the Lock Screen, using either voice or camera (Google Lens). A Google Translate widget will also be included with this widget.

Also, the new Chrome Lock Screen widget will let you initiate a search—including a voice search—but also provide a button to switch to incognito mode immediately. It comes with a widget that turns Chrome’s offline dinosaur game into a lock screen option. (We’re big fans of the dino game, but we can’t see ourselves giving up that precious real estate on our lock screens for this, but hey, to each their own!)

Meanwhile, the new Google Drive Lock Screen widget will let you quickly access starred files and folders or a suggested Drive item with just a tap.

With the Gmail widget, you can easily monitor your email. There are three different sizes available for this widget; the inline widget, for example, can be placed directly above the clock to display an abbreviated date (such as “Wed 7”) and the total number of unread messages. The number of new messages in several categories, such as social, updates, and promotions, is displayed in a rectangular widget, allowing the user to assess each message’s relevance quickly. The number of unread messages is displayed in a smaller, circular widget.

With the release of iOS 16, Google Maps joins the ranks of apps that offer Lock Screen widgets. The widgets will provide real-time traffic information and predicted journey times to locations such as your office or home address, making them handy for travellers and commuters. To help you identify places to eat, shop, grab a cup of coffee, or stay overnight, we’ve included several widgets in the trip planner.

Finally, the Lock Screen now has a Google News widget, which displays brief headlines and, when clicked, opens the Google News app.

When Apple released iOS 14 in 2020, Google included widgets for the Home Screen that allowed users to access interactive components within various apps, including Gmail, Drive, Chrome, and others. However, the Google Calendar widget, available on the Home Screen, is not included in the new Lock Screen widgets. Strangely, the lock screen doesn’t include information about upcoming activities and meetings since that’s the kind of quick-glance data many seek. Hopefully, the delay in the release of this widget is only temporary.

The company has said that the new Lock Screen widgets will be released “in the coming weeks,” so users won’t know an exact date.
