    Samsung Galaxy S2 and 46 other smartphones won’t be able to access WhatsApp’s software anymore, according to WhatsApp.

    The update was made available by the service through its help center, which stated that impacted devices “may not have the most recent security updates or may lack the necessary functionality to run WhatsApp.”

    WhatsApp discontinues support for some devices annually. Other IT platforms do this. They quit supporting operating systems for the oldest and least-used devices.

    You will receive a direct notification from WhatsApp and “several reminders to upgrade” if your Android or iPhone is one of the mentioned devices.

It now charges 30% quicker than the Galaxy Watch 4 and can track your sleep for eight hours after just eight minutes of charging.

    Samsung claims the Watch 5 Pro is intended for people who “enjoy the great outdoors.” Compared to the Watch 4 battery, it is 60% bigger. The Watch 5 Pro runs for 80 hours on a single full charge.     Lapsus$ Hackers Group Leak nearly 200 Gigabytes of Samsung Source Code In Cyber Attack

    Lapsus$ Hackers Group at it again as nearly 200 gigabytes of data, including the source code for numerous technologies and algorithms used in biometric unlocking operations, have been reported stolen and exposed by hackers.

    The stolen data allegedly contains confidential information from Qualcomm, a US chipmaker that supplies chipsets for Samsung handsets sold in the US.

    Access to source code might aid threat actors in identifying security vulnerabilities that would otherwise go undetected, possibly exposing vulnerable devices or systems to exploitation or data exfiltration.

    The breach was claimed by the Lapsus$ hacker group, the same group that penetrated Nvidia and then leaked thousands of employee credentials online.

    Lapsus$ claims to have obtained source code for trusted applets installed in Samsung’s TrustZone environment, which Samsung phones use for sensitive operations, algorithms for all biometric unlock operations, and bootloader source code for all recent Samsung Galaxy devices in a post on its Telegram channel.

    What They Are Saying

    Samsung Spokesperson confirmed a “security breach” related to some internal company data but said no personal data belonging to customers or employees were accessed by the hackers.

    “According to our initial analysis, the breach involves some source code relating to the operation of Galaxy devices, but does not include the personal information of our consumers or employees,” Samsung said. “Currently, we do not anticipate any impact to our business or customers. We have implemented measures to prevent further such incidents and will continue to serve our customers without disruption.”

    When enquired, Qualcomm stated that it was aware of a reported incident involving Samsung.

    “We take these claims very seriously and are working expeditiously with Samsung to understand the scope of the incident, as well as to confirm what Qualcomm data, if any, have been impacted. We have no reason to believe that Qualcomm systems or security were impacted as a result of this reported incident,” said Clare Conley, Qualcomm spokesperson.

    Possible Motive Behind The Data Breach

    It’s unclear if Lapsus$ wanted a ransom from Samsung before publishing the data as it did with Nvidia’s increasingly strange requests. The group asked that the American chipmaker deactivate its controversial Lite Hash Rate (LHR) feature and open-source its graphics chip drivers for macOS, Windows, and Linux.

    Although the deadline passed on Friday, the hacker gang has yet to carry out its threat.

    Samsung Heavy Industries has appointed Jaebum Kim as the new CEO of its fabrication & integration yard in Lagos.

    Mr. Kim succeeds Mr. Dong Seong Suh who after 5 years and 10 months of hard and satisfying work in Nigeria is returning to Korea in order to continue his career within Samsung Heavy Industries.

    Mr. Kim has accrued over 7 years of experience in the optimization of construction facilities and planning. Mr. Kim has previously worked in the Korean shipbuilding industry as a Director in charge of production and process management in shipbuilding and construction planning.

    In September 2006, Mr. Kim joined Samsung Heavy Industries. He undertook projects to rationalize domestic facilities and develop new plants domestically and internationally. From 2011 to 2013 he was involved as a project leader for the establishment of PI (Process Innovation) and integrated management system (S-ERP) for the development of an integrated shipbuilding marine management system (S-ERP). This experience has allowed him to develop a deep understanding of shipbuilding and offshore plant construction process management systems.

    He played a vital role in successfully establishing the fabrication and integration facility in Nigeria and completing Egina FPSO project while securing safety and delivering high-quality standards. This achievement had marked SHI-MCI’s presence in Nigeria as a fabrication and instruction hub of Nigeria.

    The Egina is a flagship offshore oil and gas project for the French oil major, Total, which is producing close over 200,000 barrels of crude oil per day, close to 10 percent of Nigeria’s total oil production, and is adding considerable revenue to the Nigerian economy. His notable achievement as overall production control manager at SHI-MCI for 6 years, combined with his valuable experiences, made Mr. Kim the logical successor to Mr. Suh.
