AXESS Networks, Wazima Health, and COMITAS e-Health have formed a collaboration to develop e-health solutions for geographically isolated areas of Africa. This project is intended to be completed using satellite technology.
The concept of health care as a human right underpins the parties’ ability to collaborate. AXESS Networks is a company that provides communications systems that use satellite, fibre, and wireless technologies.
Wazima’s key emphasis includes screening at the point of service, access to diagnosis, referral to electronic health records, medication monitoring, and support for ongoing care.
COMITAS e-health provides professional telemedicine services as well as equipment and software for remote healthcare components.
According to the terms of the agreement, the organisation will leverage the most recent advancements in both software and technology to provide medical services such as screening, diagnosis, and treatment to those who reside in areas with limited access to medical care.

In addition, the partners intend to cooperate on expanding access to high-quality medical care across the continent.
This will be accomplished by the use of satellites in remote locations, making it easier to give medical treatment in rural areas without forcing patients to travel.
The group’s proposed solution would allow medical services to be provided in specialised locations such as medical care centres, hospitals, pharmacies, or diagnostic centres, all of which are real-time locations where medical professionals are located, as well as in remote locations equipped with a remote medical examination system.
Furthermore, graduates of medical and surgical schools are available through collaboration to provide medical support and consultation.
Ralf Schmitz, Chief Commercial Officer of AXESS EMEA, discussed how the need for new digital technologies in healthcare has expanded throughout the world. He also emphasised how the combined collaboration would establish itself as a new way of providing healthcare services.
According to Elizabeth Adeshina, the Chief Executive Officer of Wazima Health, the mission of Wazima is to facilitate the transformation of Africa’s healthcare by covering the entire continuum of care, from health promotion to prevention, diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation, and palliative care. This will allow Wazima to facilitate the transformation of Africa’s healthcare.
When asked about the partnership, the Chief Executive Officer of COMITAS e-health, Aquilino Antua, stated that her company is happy to cooperate with Wazima and Axxess to increase the quality of treatment as well as the accessibility of medical services across the continent.
