Netflix to integrate shows and movies with Samsung’s HDR10+ technology

Netflix raked in $10.25bn revenue in 2024, hit 19 million new subscribers in Q4

Samsung Electronics and Netflix have announced a new partnership aimed at providing users with an improved viewing experience.

The collaboration will combine Samsung’s HDR10+ technology, which is currently available on 2025 Samsung Neo QLED, OLED, and Lifestyle TVs, as well as a few 2024 monitor models, with Netflix’s extensive collection of television series and films.

“HDR10+ enhances the way we watch content, delivering deeper contrast and more vibrant colours for a truly cinematic experience,” said Executive Vice President of Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics, Taeyong Son, in a statement on its website.

He added, “We are excited to bring this technology to Netflix’s 300 million-plus members and will continue collaborating with various partners to expand HDR10+ support across our product lineup and the broader streaming ecosystem.”

HDR10+ optimises image quality scene by scene

According to the company, Samsung invented HDR10+, a next-generation high dynamic range technology that optimises image quality scene by scene.

 HDR10+ maintains the original intent of the creator by dynamically adjusting brightness and contrast levels to display every frame with remarkable clarity and detail.

Every scene feels more realistic thanks to this integration, which gives viewers access to a growing library of HDR10+ content with increased realism and depth.

In addition to the 2025 and 2024 monitor models, 2025 Samsung Neo QLED, OLED, and Lifestyle TVs will be able to access HDR10+ content on Netflix, with support for more models to follow.

This launch brings better picture quality to more viewers and is a major step in the expansion of HDR10+ content. To further expand HDR10+ support, Samsung is collaborating with an expanding network of industry partners in addition to Netflix.
