The Ministry of Industry and Ethio Telecom recently convened with stakeholders and representatives from the manufacturing sector to discuss an innovative e-commerce digital marketing platform aimed at modernising the industry. This development, announced by Ethio Telecom on Tuesday, promises significant improvements in the sector.

The platform is revolutionary for the manufacturing sector, according to Minister of Industry Ato Melaku Alebel, since it will increase market accessibility to a larger audience, improve relationships with input suppliers, and expedite product production, all of which will enhance supply chain dependability and facilitate better decision-making.

Minister Melaku emphasised that modernising the manufacturing sector is essential for Ethiopia’s broader digital transformation. He believes this will boost the country’s international competitiveness and contribute to a more inclusive digital economy, ultimately benefiting citizens across Ethiopia.

Firehiwot Tamiru, the CEO of Ethio Telecom, highlighted that collaboration is necessary for Ethiopia’s digital transformation and said that the organisation has built the infrastructure necessary to deploy the digital marketing platform that is a component of it.
