Hurupay, a leading financial services company, has introduced its Virtual USD Accounts, allowing users to open a dollar-denominated bank account similar to a traditional bank without the hassles of leaving their homes.

Hurupay CEO Philip Mburu made the announcement on his LinkedIn page on Saturday.

Hurupay Virtual USD accounts allow users to receive USD payments seamlessly as if you had a traditional US bank account by giving you an account number and a routing number linked to a U.S.-based bank.

“Over the last few months, we’ve been building something revolutionary at Hurupay,” Mburu said on Saturday. “We’ve been heads down, designing and refining a solution to a challenge that millions of remote workers, freelancers, and individuals face daily: accessing a reliable USD account to receive USD payments from employers abroad,” the statement reads.

Respite for African remote workers, freelancers

He noted that Hurupay will solve the challenges facing African remote workers and freelancers who are finding it difficult to access their funds.

“For remote workers and freelancers in Africa and other emerging markets, getting paid can feel like navigating a minefield. Most don’t have access to USD accounts, and the few options that exist come with hidden risks: accounts suddenly frozen, payments delayed, or services shut down when they receive ‘too much’ money.

“Today, we’re thrilled to announce the launch of Hurupay’s Virtual USD Accounts!”, he added.

Also, remote workers and freelancers can include their USD account information as a payment option to get paid on Upwork, Deel, Fiverr, Freelancer, and other platforms.

There are no monthly charges when you open an account. A 1.5 percent fee on incoming transactions is the only expense.
